Skill Development

Skill Development with an eye on employment is the need of the hour and Shanti Sahyog is a widely known NGO working for Skill Development in Delhi/NCR. There is a growing realization that having an educational degree, does not always help in getting a job commensurate with one’s qualification. However, a minimum qualification of Class X combined with some vocational skill leads to employment opportunities.

The aim is:

  • To expand the earning capability of the marginalized sections of society, thus bringing them into the mainstream, by teaching vocational skills.
  • To empower underprivileged students /adults by providing sustainable livelihood leading to economic independence.
  • Special attention to school drop outs with a minimum qualification of Class X.
  • COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

Knowledge of computers is a pre-requisite today for better performance in any job and a help in career growth. Since September 2008, we provide training in Basic & Advanced Computer Applications and Tally ERP 9 Courses. Course duration varies from 3 to 6 months. At the end of the training, they are examined and given Certificates. More than 90% our students pass with an ‘A’ Grade. Efforts are made to place the qualified students in Computer Operations jobs – such as Data Entry Operator, Accounts Assistant, Receptionist, Cash Memo Co-ordinator, Bank Executive etc.

Digital literacy is a valuable asset in today's job market. Applications focused on skill enhancement contribute to economic empowerment by providing opportunities for employment.

The Need for Tailored Skill Development Programs

Non-governmental organizations and community-based projects play a pivotal role in addressing local needs. Highlighting successful initiatives showcases the impact of grassroots efforts in uplifting the underprivileged.

Empowering communities to take charge of their own development fosters sustainability. Showcasing examples of communities driving their skill development projects inspires others to follow suit.

Beyond individual success stories, socio-economic impact metrics provide a broader perspective. Evaluating the overall improvement in communities helps demonstrate the long-term benefits of skill development.
